Hello, my name is Ashley St. Onge, and I am a Journalism student at Oakland University.
This was a long and rough process for me. Picking my topic seemed a little too easy. I already had an idea of what I wanted to do when I thought about the project, but once I started working on the assignment, I realized how challenging this was really going to be.
The weather in Michigan is always changing, and it is really hard to predict what the weather is going to do. Since I was doing my project on the 2013/2014 winter season, I was really counting on having some good snow, and many opportunities for photos. I traveled around Southeast Michigan, trying to find the best ways to represent the winter we had this year.
I love the idea of photographing nature and weather, it is something that I have always loved, and it really fueled my love for photography as well. I find beauty in the simplest of things, like a cloud in the sky, or a wild animal forging for food. I also love Michigan, and as much as I am not a fan of the cold and snow, I still find winter absolutely beautiful and snow majestic and peaceful. Just as long as I'm not stuck out in it.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my pictures.
